A few months ago I mentioned that I was working on adapting 'Tis Pity She's a Whore for Bigger Than a Breadbox Theatre Co. in San Francisco. That adaptation is coming along in very exciting ways (and I'm learning the wonders and horrors of trying to write in blank verse without making fun of it), but in the meantime make sure you check out their production of Robot Hand, a new play by Taylor Adamson, happening next weekend. Nothing like a modern family comedy to whet your appetite for classic revenge drama said no one ever, but fortunately you'll have a few months to recover from the laughter-related ab workout and gird your loins for some good old-fashioned murder and incest (gotta hand it to the Jacobeans). Buy your tickets here!
Last year a close friend of mine named Ariel Craft founded Bigger Than a Breadbox Theatre Co. in San Francisco. I just had a great meeting with her when I was in California for Thanksgiving, and I'm delighted to say that I'll be adapting John Ford's classic 'Tis Pity She's a Whore for them this Summer! I'll be sure to give you more information about that as we get closer to the date, but for now go to their website and sign up for their emails to get updates about this show, and their next production Robot Hand (coming this February).
